Since my chosen artist is Halsey, I will be looking into her style/music/personal since I will have to portray what she will think/create in her music videos.

 

 

'Gasoline' is from her new album 'Badlands'. Halsey described 'Badlands' as what she is feeling, what her brain is thinking and what she is going through. There are different things happening, and each song she wrote, she was in a state in which she likes to call 'Badlands'.

Halsey has bipolar disorder, where she can have extreme mood swings, from happy to depressed really quickly. I feel like Gasoline has the same attitude, where she is first disgusted but calm then she gets angry; you can hear the chorus being layered with different range, then the verses are just her voice, showing two different personalities/emotions in one song.

 

Since I am creating a 'promotion' for the new release of an album, it has to relate to what she says, as she is my client( if I was to do this in real life) and also relate to her other music videos released from her new album.

 

'New Americana' was released, with a teaser clip of her next music video, 'Drive' at the end. I am hoping to create 'Gasoline' as what she had gone through, the emotions, the loneliness, and what has caused her where she is in 'New Americana', sort of like a story, of her past, being told to other members of the gang.
