I wanted the album to be like a 'path/journey' to the artist and I thought using doors/buildings could represent this metaphorically. Using the rule of thirds, I wanted the subjects to be on either the sides with the middle of the other 2/3 empty.

Here are the templates I will be using to create my ancillaries. The digipak template was from - http://www.discmakers.com/templates/Digipaks.asp - and the magazine templates was made by myself from the research. The digipak template are all universal, so it will have the same placements. I decided to put minimal wiritng with only very important information such as the album name, artist name, 'availability', institution and where it is available. The main part of the poster will be the main image of the artist.

Below are the unedited images I have taken to be used for my ancillaries. All the images were taken while we were shooting the main product. I will be choosing images for my album cover, poster and lyrics booklet.
Digipak
For the first draft, I wanted to create some sort of distorted image, to show the emotions/feelings of this album. I added a very simple but typewriter font style album title in black, so it goes well with the white background. I like this edit, but I feel like this might be more exposure than intended, as I want the lyric booklet to be more intimate, with images of her inside rather than the on the outside i.e. album cover.
This was a experiment where I use bold colours to attract people's eye. The edit was used using PS's hue and saturation tool to change the colour. I like this edit, however 'gifs' will not work in the real products so maybe this can be used for TV/internet adverts.

The images will be used for the lyric booklet. The front cover of the lyric booklet will say 'You are now entering badlands' while the end of the booklet will say 'Hope you enjoyed your stay', to show the 'journey'. All the images are edited using the basic brightness/contrast and colour balance tool on PS. All lyrics are written using the font ORATOR to show relation throughtout the ancillaries and the main product.
